As some of you might be aware, current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made it his mission to eradicate Black people from the pages of American history. If the trend continues, the legacy of Black people will be lost forever, leaving our children unequipped with the sense of pride knowledge one’s culture nourishes. Not knowing the history and contributions of Black people in America, young people can’t comprehend the dues the ancestors have already paid for them. We are now the gatekeepers of our history.
